Ingrid Vekemans

Ingrid will exhibit Africa images during the 30th anniversary of the Festival International Nature Namur. Her exhibition will take place from 16 until 20 October 2024.

On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 April 2024 you can meet Ingrid in a for free pop-up Photo Café in Drongen, together with colleagues Ludo Goossens and Koen De Langhe. It will be a nice get-together with a small exhibition of our favorite images and some information booths where you can ask all your questions about our activities, workshops, trips, books, etc. Fancy a pleasant Saturday or Sunday afternoon among all like-minded people? You are welcome in the Oude Abdij (Drongen) on April 13 from 1pm to 6pm, and on April 14 from 11am to 5 pm. Parking is free, drinks (soft drinks, coffee, tea) and refreshments too! Our treat!

In cooperation with Nikon School Ingrid presents a macro photography webinar on 6 June 2023 at 19u30 CEST. You can enroll for free here, but be aware the presentation will be in Dutch.

A selection of Ingrids works will be exhibited in the foyer of Cultureel Centrum 't Schaliken in Herentals from 28 April until 19 June 2022. Opening on 27 April om 8 pm. The exhibition can be visited during the activities at 't Schaliken. Where? Grote Markt 35, 2200 Herentals, Belgium.

Ingrid is a member of the jury of the BioPhotoContest 2022.

'Battle Of Giants' wins 1st prize in the Benjamin Mkapa African Wildlife Photography Awards 2021 and goes on tour in the year to come. Start of the exhibition is the  Nairobi National Museum from today until 15 January 2022.

A selection of Ingrids works will be exhibited in business and meeting centre De Winkelhaak and Bar Oscar in Antwerp from 30 September until 29 October 2021. Opening times: Monday to Friday from 9am until 6 pm. Where? Lange Winkelhaakstraat 26, 2060 Antwerp.

 

More than 10 years after her first award in Washington, Matriarch has been chosen to become the face of the first Mkapa African Wildlife Photography Awards, organised by Nature's Best Photography and The African Wildlife Foundation.

Ingrid will have a booth on the Photodays from 13 until 15 March. Every day she will give a lecture (in Dutch) about 'The Magic of the African savannah'. More information can be found here.

'Forest Mandala VI' receives a Special Mention in Travel Photographer Of The Year 2019.

On the fair of the Lowland Photo Festival on 7 and 8 December in Antwerp (B) Ingrid will be present to sell and - if desired - sign her book 'Safari! - the essence'. You are also welcome for information about her workshops and photo safaris. There is also a nice giveaway for anyone who subscribes to my newsletter there (for the first time) on the spot (until the item is out of stock).

CEWE Magazine publishes an interview and a selection of photos and cover shot for the magazine.

A selection of Ingrids photos will be exhibited in the Notre Dame d'Harscamp in Namur during the prestigious Expos Photos AVES festival. Ingrid will be there on Saturday and Sunday (22 and 23 September) to sign and sell her book and will give a lecture on Sunday 23 September.

Ingrid will present her book 'SAFARI! - the essence' on the Day of Photography in Heusden-Zolder (B) on Saturday 16 June. Ingrid will also be present all day on the - free! - fair where you have the option to buy a copy of her book.

'A Family Tree' is Highly Commended in the BioPhotoContest 2018.

On 25 March Ingrid will give a lecture about creative forest photography at Pixperience 365 in Nijkerk (NL). 

'The Thinker' is Runner Up in the Wildlife Portraits category of the Wildlife Photo Contest 2017.

'Conflict Of Interest' wins silver in the 'Wildlife' category of the Px3 Awards 2017.

'Baby Gorilla' wins 1st prize in the 'Mammals' category of the IFWP Photo Contest 2017.

'The Foxglove Blues'  was nominated in the Nature Images Awards 2016 (in the category 'Végétal').

Ingrid will give a lecture about her Africa Photography at the Photoday of Art & Craft on Saturday 19 November 2016.

From April to September 2011, 'Matriarch' is exhibited in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington DC, USA.

'Matriarch' receives a special mention in the Oasis Photo Contest 2010 and will be the cover shot for the competition's catalogue. It will be displayed at the "Oasis Photocontest 2010" exhibition that will take place in the city of Milan, among other Italian cities, in 2011.
